Job summary

CareTech Community Services in Oldham is seeking a Female Support Worker to join our cared-for living team, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) on a rota basis, with a focus on person-centred, trauma-informed care to empower independence.

We value resilience, calmness under pressure, and a compassionate, patient approach. DBS required; drivers preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with complex needs.
• Enhanced DBS clearance required.
• Drivers preferred but not essential.
• Good communication and written skills.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care as needed (washing/dressing).
• Assist with meals and developing cooking skills.
• Encourage independence and daily living skills.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable home environment.
• Create opportunities for people to try new things and build confidence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and PBS to support positive outcomes.
• Build trusting, respectful relationships.
