Job summary

Head First is seeking a compassionate Female Support Worker to join our daughter's care team in Sunningdale, Ascot. You will provide one-to-one, child-centred support for a 7-year-old girl with complex medical needs.

The role involves tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, mobility support, and communication via PECS, Makaton and electronic AAC. Hours are term-time and holidays with after-school shifts: Mon-Thu 3:00pm-9:00pm, Fri 1:00pm-9:00pm; 12-hour weekend shifts on rota.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience supporting children with complex, physical, or additional needs in the UK.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Seeking a long-term position and able to provide continuity of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, child-centred support including tracheostomy care and PEG feeding.
  • Support communication using PECS, Makaton, and electronic AAC devices.
  • Encourage play, learning, therapy activities, and social development.
  • Help achieve monthly developmental goals focused on communication, mobility, independence, and cognitive skills.
  • Support speech and language therapy programmes, including oral motor activities.
  • Accompany our daughter to school, appointments, activities, and community outings.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Support the wider family to maintain a positive and nurturing home environment.

Female Support Worker *

Location: Sunningdale, Ascot

Salary: £20.00 - £24.00 per hour (Minimum 30 hours per week (up to 48 hours available) Salary Equivalent: £47,760-£49,920 per annum)

About the Role

  • Encouraging play, learning, therapy activities, and social development.

Hours and Shifts
Term Time
  • Monday to Thursday: 3:00pm to 9:00pm
  • Friday: 1:00pm to 9:00pm
School Holidays & Weekends
  • 12-hour shifts on a rota basis

Additional hours may be available. Shift times may occasionally vary according to family needs, with reasonable notice provided.
