Job summary

Purple Direct Payments Support Service is seeking a flexible bank/support worker to help with daily living tasks for a 70-year-old client in West Bromwich. You will assist with personal care, household chores and mobility as needed, including outdoor wheelchair use. DBS and right-to-work checks apply.

Hours are variable to cover planned holidays and unexpected sickness. You may be called to step in and cover existing assistants during absences, ensuring continuity of care and safety at all times.

Qualifications

• DBS check required.
• Right to work in the UK and references will be checked.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living tasks such as cleaning, cooking, laundry and personal care.
• Provide mobility support, including turning the mattress and wheelchair assistance when outdoors.
• Act as a companion and chaperone as needed and cover shifts during sickness or holidays.

Job description

I am a 70-year-old lady with chronic health, balance and mobility issues. I generally have a positive outlook and am friendly and sociable. I need support to help me live well and maintain a better quality of life.

Rate of pay: £12.71 per hour, paid through Purple Direct Payments Support Service.

Hours Flexible (As and when needed to cover planned holidays and unexpected sickness)

This role is for bank/relief cover. You will be called upon to step in and help with day-to-day living. Assistants will also be required to provide cover for existing PAs during sickness and holidays.
