Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Support Worker at Ormesby House, West Hill, Oxted, Surrey. You’ll join a dedicated team delivering compassionate care to adults with mental health conditions, helping residents along their recovery pathways and achieving meaningful outcomes.

The role is permanent, 35 hours per week, with shifts from 7am to 10pm and every other weekend on a rota. A valid UK driving licence is required to support residents with transport and activities.

What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with a range of Mental Health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

This is a permanent, 35 hours a week, full-time contract. Will be working on 7 hours shifts, or compressed shifts, between the hours of 7am and 10pm, including every other weekend shift on rota.

The vacancy requires female candidates who can drive and hold the UK drivers licence, also must be able to use the house vehicle and drive the residents for activities. This is to support the female residents in the most efficient manner.

Ormesby House provides a specialist residential servicefor all gender identities who have a learning disability, orwho are autistic, and have behaviours which, due to theirdiagnosis may be of concern/distress. Residents may alsohave profound and multiple communication difficulties,sensory impairments and physical health problems.As well as supporting individuals who have a learning disability,who are autistic, we are specialists in working with additionalcomplex needs.

The service is staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated teamof Support Workers, led by an experienced Registered Manager.

Ormesby House is situated in Oxted, Surrey and providesten en-suite bedrooms, communal lounges and a sunroomalong with a fully enclosed garden. Oxted is surroundedby beautiful countryside, and there are many local shops,restaurants, and cafes. The town also has a number ofparks and green spaces. In addition, there are many localsports clubs and facilities.
