Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is hiring a Support Worker at Felbrigg House in Dover. You will help people with learning disabilities and autism, supporting daily living and recovery goals within a friendly, compassionate team.

The role involves ward rounds, behaviour analysis, recording updates, and personal care. It requires flexibility to work shifts (7am–10pm) and every other weekend, in a permanent full-time contract.

Qualifications

  • Experience in care settings preferred.
  • Able to work shifts between 7am and 10pm, including weekends.
  • A caring nature with patience and resilience.

What You Will Be Doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disability & Autism, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

This is a permanent, full-time employment, 37.5 weekly hours contract.

You must be flexible and willing to work on shifts, between the hours of 7am and 10pm, on rotas, including every other weekend shift.

Where You Will Be Working

Location: Felbrigg House, St. Alphege Road, Dover, Kent, CT16 2PU

Felbrigg House Provides a Specialist Residential Service For All Gender Identities Who Have a Learning Disability, Or Who Are Autistic, And Who Have Sensory And Communication Impairments. We Are Specialists In Working With Additional Complex Needs Including

  • Epilepsy
  • Diabetes
  • Self-injurious behaviours
  • Prader-Willi syndrome
  • Individuals who may have limited hearing or sight
  • Individuals with mobility issues who may require a wheelchair

The service is staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated team of Support Workers, led by an experienced Registered Manager.

Felbrigg House is situated in the Conservation Area of Dover, in Kent and provides a spacious beautiful character home, with two fully enclosed gardens and eleven spacious en-suite bedrooms. There is a good range of shops and amenities a short walk away, including outdoor recreational areas and parks, beaches, local beauty spots and zoos. Dover has direct train access to London and good road links around the area.
