Job summary

Avant Healthcare Services Limited is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to provide in-home support in the GU25 area, covering Virginia Water. The role involves personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, and companionship within clients' homes, with a focus on safety and dignity.

You'll work within a zero-hours framework, travel across TW18/TW20, and adapt to varying hours while maintaining high standards of care and empathy for clients with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering personal care and support in clients' homes.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and empathy.
• Capable of moving and handling with hoists and equipment.
• Strong spoken and written English for clear communication.
• Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, dressing and preparing for appointments.
• Support with meal preparation and household tasks to keep home tidy.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Assist with appointments, shopping and social activities.
• Offer care for specialist needs such as dementia or autism as required.
• Travel between homes within the TW18/TW20 area and maintain reliability.

Female Care Worker - Long Hours GU25 (Virginia Water)

Contract Type: Zero hours

Contract Details: We offer zero hours and guaranteed hours contracts in some cases

Mobility & Transfers: The client is bed/chair bound with no movement from the waist down (height approx. 5'5", weight approx. 70kg). Full assistance with transfers using a hoist machine is required; candidates must be physically fit and proficient in moving and handling/hoist operation.

Personal Care & Support: Assisting with personal care, dressing, and preparing the client for GP and hospital appointments.

Meal Preparation: Cooking and preparing daily meals as requested.

Housekeeping & Routine: Maintaining a clean and tidy home environment. The client prefers an active, attentive carer who keeps busy around the house.

Behavioral Support: The client lives with alcohol addiction and may occasionally display challenging behaviors (e.g., shouting or vocal outbursts). Experience in managing challenging behaviors with patience, calm, and empathy is required.

Shift Schedule: 08:30 to 13:30 daily (7 days a week)
