Job description

Required: Full UK driving licence and some experience within the health and social care sector. This role will involve working a long day followed by a sleep in to support the needs of the individual supported. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Make a difference by supporting people to live their life, their way.

You will be supporting a lady in her early 30s who lives independently in her own home in Wisbech. She thrives on very structured daily routines and enjoys activities such as listening to music, swimming, and bowling. This role involves working long days followed by a sleep-in shift to ensure her needs are fully supported.

Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

We can teach you everything you need to know about supporting people well. What we can’t teach you, is the stuff that comes from within: That buzz you get when you celebrate someone’s wins – big or small. That natural sense of wanting to make someone’s day brighter. That understanding that climbing a mountain starts with a single step. In essence, that’s what we are looking for from you.

What does it mean to be a support worker? Think about your daily routine and what matters to you. If you needed support to keep your day the way you like it, what would be important to you?

  • Take time to understand what a great day means to the person you support.
  • Adjust your approach to meet people’s needs and build on both their strengths and your own.
  • Help build a supportive environment that encourages everyone to thrive and gives them the freedom to live their life their way.

People are at the heart of everything we do and as a support worker you will embody our core values by:

  • Working together
  • Respecting the strengths and differences of the people you work with
  • Communicating openly and building trust.
  • Helping each other to provide the best support possible.
  • Giving our best.
  • Being dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives.
  • Whether the day was easy or tough, taking responsibility for your actions and focusing on what matters most to those who you support.
  • Having courage.
  • Being open to new ideas and approaches.
  • Using creativity and flexibility to try different ways of helping others.
  • Providing the most effective and adaptable support possible.

If you are offered a role with us, you will need to complete an enhanced DBS check. We will submit your application and pay for your check.

We’re committed to being Disability Confident and we guarantee to interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
