Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Newcastle-under-Lyme seeks a Locum Consultant in ENT Head and Neck Oncology & Thyroid Surgery to join a busy cancer pathway.

You will independently manage Head & Neck Oncology and Thyroid Surgery, participate in ERS triage and two-week-wait referrals, and contribute to reducing backlogs while sharing on-call duties with the Mid Cheshire NHS Trust.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable consultant-level Head & Neck cancer MDT experience.
• GMC registration or eligibility for entry via Specialist Register within 6 months of interview.
• Postgraduate higher degree (PhD, Masters, or BSc) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of Head & Neck Oncology and Thyroid Surgery.
• Contribute to modern consultant-led cancer pathways and triage processes.
• Participate in on-call rota and help reduce service backlogs.
