Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a fellowship-trained ENT Head & Neck Cancer surgeon to independently manage oncology, thyroid surgery, and modern cancer pathways. You will contribute to ERS triage, virtual reviews, and digital outpatient services while advancing service development.

The role requires adaptability to new delivery models and a commitment to reducing backlogs, with a 1:9 weekday and 1:15 weekend on-call rotation shared with Mid Cheshire NHS Trust.

Qualifications

• Fellowship-trained ENT Head & Neck Cancer surgeon capable of independent management of oncology and thyroid procedures.
• Experience within modern consultant-led pathways and cancer triage systems.
• Credentials to join/enter UK GMC Specialist Register with eligible CESR pathway.

Responsibilities

• Lead Head & Neck oncology and thyroid surgery within UHNM pathways.
• Participate in ERS triage, two-week-wait triage and virtual diagnostic pathways.
• Support ENT team and reduce service backlogs through clinical activity.
• Share on-call rota at 1:9 weekdays and 1:15 weekends with partner trust.
