Job summary

The Thrive Team Limited is seeking a Mechanical Analysis Engineer in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will develop and execute FEA models for structural analysis, interpret results, and provide actionable feedback to design engineers.

Join a team focused on optimizing designs, validating simulations against physical tests, and producing clear technical reports. The role offers exposure to non-linear analysis and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree at least 2:1 in Engineering or related subject.
• Proficiency with Ansys Workbench/Mechanical and SpaceClaim.
• 3D CAD and PDM systems experience (Autodesk Vault and Inventor preferred).
• Experience analysing plated structures, welded fabrications, buckling, bolted joints, and pin-jointed assemblies.
• Solid understanding of stress analysis, material properties, and solid mechanics.
• Experience with non-linear analysis and additional simulation tools.
• Knowledge of heavy fabrication or large welded structures.
• Exposure to product validation and physical testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute FEA models for structural analysis.
• Interpret results and provide feedback to design engineers.
• Optimise designs and validate simulations against physical testing.
• Produce accurate technical reports and documentation.
• Support root cause analysis of failures using simulations.
• Enhance simulation workflows and best practices.
• Stay up to date with latest FEA tools, techniques, and industry developments.
