Mechanical Analysis Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute FEA models for structural analysis.
- Interpret results and provide clear, actionable feedback to design engineers.
- Optimise designs and validate simulations through correlation with physical testing.
- Produce accurate technical reports and documentation.
- Support root cause analysis of failures using simulation techniques.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of simulation workflows and best practices.
- Stay up to date with the latest FEA tools, techniques, and industry developments.
About You
We are looking for a detail-oriented engineer with strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. You will have a proactive approach to problem-solving and the confidence to influence design through simulation results.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of a 2:1 degree in Engineering or a related subject.
- Strong experience with Ansys Workbench, Mechanical, and Spaceclaim.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD and PDM systems (Autodesk Vault and Inventor preferred).
- Experience analysing plated structures, welded fabrications, buckling, bolted joints, and pin-jointed assemblies.
- A solid understanding of stress analysis fundamentals, material properties, and solid mechanics.
- Experience with non-linear analysis and additional simulation tools.
- Knowledge of heavy fabrication or large welded structures.
- Previous exposure to product validation and physical testing.
