At Clarus Education, we are working with an FE College who are seeking to appoint a FE Course Team Leader in Plumbing, based at the Harrow Campus.
As Course Team Leader, reporting to the Section Manager for Construction, you would be responsible for the effective curriculum management of a range programmes across plumbing, electrical, and multi-skills provision.
You would also teach across a range of programmes according to your specialism, supervise a team of Lecturers and will be involved in ongoing curriculum development and quality assurance.
You will possess a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Plumbing, an Assessor qualification and at least 2 years’ experience of teaching Plumbing.
You will ideally possess a Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (or be willing to work towards this) and have a good understanding of best practice in teaching and learning.
You should also have some curriculum co-ordination experience and ideally experience of leading/supervising a team.
All lecturers have a generic list of duties (see below). Duties specific to the Course Team Leader in Plumbing include: -
Person Specification:
*Minimum of Level 3 qualification in Plumbing
*Unvented hot water current certificate – essential
*Water regulations certificate - essential
*Assessor Qualification (A1 or equivalent) - essential
*An advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET, PGCE) ** or willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification, supported by the College
*Must have experience of successful teaching in Plumbing
*Ability to plan courses, timetables and work schedules
*Some curriculum development/co-ordination experience
*Experience of organising and implementing quality systems and procedures
*Experience of leading and supervising a team
*Background of working within the Plumbing industry
* The ability to engage and inspire vocational learners aged 16-19
* Up-to-date knowledge of Plumbing and evidence of continuing professional development
