Job summary

Sofina Foods Europe in Elgin is seeking hands-on individuals for Outdoor Pig Farming Operations. Training will be provided, and the role suits those who enjoy physical outdoor work and learning new skills.

Shift pattern: Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–16:00, weekends on a rota, and every third Thursday 06:00–15:00 with seasonal variability. Own transport is essential for remote farm sites.

Qualifications

• Outdoor, physical role in all weather conditions.
• Reliable, self-motivated, with good timekeeping.
• Willing to learn and follow processes.
• Own transport and ability to travel to remote sites.
• Experience with livestock is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Work with pigs on an outdoor unit, including feeding, moving, serving and handling.
• Maintain and uphold the highest standards of animal welfare.
• Follow Health and Safety procedures and support management in fostering a positive safety culture.
• Maintain the overall appearance and condition of the farm.
• Safely and effectively operate farm machinery.

Role Overview

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Outdoor Pig Farming Operations in the Elgin area. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical, outdoor work and is open to learning. While experience in agriculture is an advantage, it is not essential as we will provide comprehensive training to help you thrive in your role.

Due to the rural locations of our farms, having your own transport is essential.

Monday to Thursday, 08:00-17:00 | Friday, 08:00-16:00

Weekend work required on a rota basis

Every third Thursday, 06:00-15:00 (start time with seasonal variability).

£13.00 per hour

Key Duties

• Work with pigs on an outdoor unit, including feeding, moving, serving and handling.
• Maintain and uphold the highest standards of animal welfare.
• Follow Health and Safety procedures and support management in fostering a positive safety culture.
• Maintain the overall appearance and condition of the farm.
• Safely and effectively operate farm machinery.

Ideal Candidate

• Comfortable working outdoors in a physical, hands-on role in all weather conditions.
• Reliable and self-motivated with good timekeeping and a positive attitude.
• Willing to learn and committed to following processes.
• Able to travel to remote sites independently.
• Experience with livestock is a plus but not essential.
