Job summary

Shaw Education Trust is seeking a reliable Site technician to join our school team in Stoke-on-Trent. You will secure the premises, perform routine cleaning and maintenance, monitor systems, and assist with minor repairs and setup of furniture.

The role supports a safe, welcoming environment and works under senior staff, with a part-time schedule (1pm–6pm). We value proactive, flexible individuals committed to high standards across the site.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable and practical Site technician to join our school team and help ensure our premises are safe, secure, clean and well maintained.

Working under the direction of senior staff, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care of the school site, including securing the premises, carrying out routine cleaning and maintenance, monitoring heating, lighting and alarm systems, and ensuring the school and grounds remain safe, tidy and welcoming.

The role will include carrying out minor repairs and maintenance, basic plumbing and joinery, painting and decorating, managing waste and consumables, setting up and moving furniture, and responding to issues such as spillages, blockages and adverse weather conditions.

You will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the school, contributing to a positive school environment and helping to promote the safety, wellbeing, inclusion and welfare of all pupils.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical, proactive and able to work independently, with a flexible approach and a commitment to maintaining high standards across the school site.

Actual Salary: £17,579-£18,139.86
