Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is seeking experienced Family Time Workers for temporary roles in County Durham. The positions are full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, supporting safe, child-centred family time sessions.

The successful candidate will work with Social Workers to promote positive relationships and document observations for meetings and care plans.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children, families or within a Children's Services setting.
  • Qualification in Childcare, Health and Social Care or related field.
  • Experience supervising or supporting family time/contact sessions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support family time sessions in line with care plans.
  • Observe and record the quality of family interactions and provide notes for Social Workers.
  • Transport children to and from sessions when required.
  • Support parents with practical parenting skills, routines, boundaries and emotional understanding.
  • Offer guidance to help families build confidence and strengthen relationships.
  • Contribute to multi-agency discussions by sharing observations and feedback from sessions.
  • Prepare written reports and information for meetings and assessments.

Job description

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Family Time Workers for temporary opportunities within the County Durham area. These are full-time positions working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Overview

The successful candidates will work closely with Social Workers to provide safe, positive and well-structured family time sessions, ensuring contact remains child-centred and supports positive relationships between children and their families.

Main Duties
  • Supervise and support family time sessions, ensuring interactions remain safe, child-centred and in line with care plans
  • Observe and record the quality of family interactions, providing clear and detailed notes to assist Social Workers
  • Transport children to and from sessions when required
  • Support parents with practical parenting skills, routines, boundaries and emotional understanding

Essential Criteria
  • Previous experience working with children, families or within a relevant Children's Services setting
  • Relevant qualification in Childcare, Health and Social Care or a related field
  • Experience supervising or supporting family time/contact sessions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle
  • Enhanced DBS certificate
