Job summary

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is hiring to supervise and support family time sessions, ensuring safety and a child-focused approach. You will observe interactions, provide interventions, and record detailed observations to inform social work decisions and court reports.

The role requires delivering flexible services for court-directed arrangements, maintaining accurate records, and working with colleagues and partner agencies to support children and families. Hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• Provide guidance and practical advice to parents to promote positive family time.
• Monitor wellbeing of parents to ensure a safe environment for children.
• Deliver a flexible service to meet court-directed family time arrangements.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports; attend court when required.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies to support children and families.

Responsibilities

• Supervise family time sessions and observe interactions between children, parents, carers and family members.
• Record detailed observations promptly and accurately.
• Share relevant information with the child's social worker in a timely manner.
• Prepare detailed reports to court to evidence parenting support and interventions.
• Coordinate and facilitate supervised family time, including transporting families when needed.
• Build positive working relationships with children, families, colleagues and partners.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings, reviews and planning processes.
