Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a compassionate Family Time Worker to support children and families within the Children and Families Service. You will facilitate and supervise family time sessions, ensuring sessions are safe, meaningful and centred on the child’s needs.

Role involves observing family interactions, contributing to assessments and helping inform future care plans in collaboration with social workers and other professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience recording observations and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to travel as required and work flexibly, including outside standard hours.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and child‑centred practice.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with families.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and supervise family time sessions to support child wellbeing.
• Observe interactions, contribute to assessments and inform future plans.
• Document observations accurately to support decision-making and court processes.
• Collaborate with social workers and multi‑agency professionals when needed.

Education

NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent
