Family Therapist / Family Interventions Therapist - Lewisham CMHT

The Lewisham Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) are seeking highly enthusiastic and skilled Family Therapists/Family Interventions Therapists with experience working with individuals experiencing psychosis and other severe mental health problems (SMHP). The successful candidate will share responsibility for providing family interventions alongside another Family Therapist/Family Interventions Therapist. You will join a psychological therapies team within the CMHT, which includes clinical psychologists, a CBT therapist, Clinical Associate Psychologists, and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners.

About the Team: The Lewisham CMHTs are multidisciplinary community mental health teams supporting patients recovering from psychosis and other SMHPs. They utilize NICE-recommended psychological therapies to work intensively with service users and carers, aiming to promote engagement, social inclusion, and recovery.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Develop and support family intervention services within the CMHTs, especially working with families where a member experiences psychosis.
2. Deliver family interventions, including Experience delivering FI, Cognitive-Behavioural Interventions, Open Dialogue, and Systemic family interventions, along with psycho-education.
3. Support carers through 1-1 sessions and facilitate carers' support groups.
4. Provide supervision and consultation to team members and students.
5. Engage in opportunities for research and trainee supervision.

Candidate Profile: We seek an energetic, motivated Family Therapist/Family Interventions Therapist with a genuine interest in treating psychosis and SMHPs, capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Psychological input is highly valued and considered integral to our service delivery.

Location: The teams are based in Deptford and Downham. The Family Intervention service is located at the Wallace Health Centre in Deptford, with excellent connections via Greenwich Railway/DLR Station.
