Job summary

MPA Recruitment is seeking a compassionate Band 4 Family Support Worker for the Western Health and Social Care Trust, based in Rossdowney, Derry/Londonderry. This full-time temporary post supports children, young people and families, promoting wellbeing and positive family relationships.

You will work with Social Workers and other professionals to provide flexible, person-centred support, direct work with families, supervising contact, and parenting programmes, with safeguarding at the core.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the essential qualification options or equivalent experience.
• Full UK driving licence and car access; exceptions may apply.
• NISCC registration or eligibility on the Social Care part of the register.

Responsibilities

• Support Social Workers with assessments and Child Care Plans.
• Direct work with children, young people and families.
• Facilitate supervised family time and contact arrangements; driving duties.
• Support parents in developing parenting skills, confidence and self-esteem.
• Contribute to parenting programmes and maintain records.
• Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and report safeguarding concerns.
