Job description

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £34,740 - £38,419 (CLF Grade E) - Based on 37 hours per week, term time only.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Part-time, 12 hours per week, term time only + insets.

Additional role info: Working Pattern - Tuesday, other days to be decided.

Start Date: 1 September 2025

Overview:

Haywood Village are seeking a Family Support Worker to provide high-quality, impartial, solutions-focused pastoral support and guidance to children and their families at this Outstanding Primary academy in Weston super Mare. The role aims to enable children to achieve their full potential, raise aspirations, and facilitate academic progress. The worker will collaborate with parents to strengthen parental capacity, promote understanding of their child's needs, improve family relationships, and increase parental engagement. Additionally, the role involves working with other staff to identify families needing support to improve school attendance.

About you:

You should:

  • Understand issues affecting young people and their families, especially in disadvantaged communities.
  • Have knowledge or experience of the assessment framework procedures.
  • Be educated to AS/A level or equivalent, or have relevant experience.
  • Hold a full, clean driving license and be willing to travel for home visits or to other sites.
  • Have proven experience working with young people and families in education or related fields.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Be motivational and inspiring to young people and families.
