Who are Fair Ways and what do we stand for?

Fair Ways is a leading children’s services charity based in the Solent, delivering Fostering, Education, Residential, Mental Health and Family services and cares for over 400 children, families, young people and vulnerable adults each year.

Where and when do we need you?

The Family Centre is made up of 5 self-contained flats each with their own bathroom and kitchen facilities and a separate bungalow which can accommodate an additional 2 families. Families will be referred to the Family Centre if there have been concerns identified around the safety of the children within their existing family unit. Once with us, the families will be continuously encouraged, assessed and guided through a 12 week stay where they are monitored 24/7 to encourage sustainable positive parenting changes.

  • Planning and preparation -Co-ordinating and planning shifts nightly to ensure safeguarding is prioritised. Prioritising effectively across a range of demands, Managing and adapting to change.
  • Keeping vulnerable people safe - To observe, assess and monitor the health, development and emotional well-being of parents and children, by promoting high standards of physical care, hygiene and safety in order to provide education and guidance to families supporting the best possible outcome from their parenting assessment.
  • Dotting the I's and crossing the T's -Completing nightly tasks consistent with the smooth running of the centre, such as handover, case recording, risk assessments, ensuring all information is recorded appropriately and accurately.
  • Making a house a home - To contribute to the housekeeping and administration duties of the Family Centre, including the cleaning and general household upkeep in order to ensure a welcoming and homely environment for the families in our care.
  • Teamwork makes the dream work - Working as part of a well skilled, compact, specialist workforce with fantastic support and development.
  • Developing your skills - Committing to growth and development within your role including undertaking our industry recognised RiiSE training specialising in the delivery of trauma informed responses through the individualised use of therapeutic strategy, ensuring individuals are supported appropriately during times of crisis.

The shift pattern is a 3 week rolling rota. The working hours include: long days 7am - 10:30pm, AM shift: 7am - 2:30pm, PM shift 2:30pm - 10:30pm

The working week is 37.5 hours.

All candidates must have a full driving license and have access to the use of a car. Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). This disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways.
