Job summary

Warwickshire County Council's Family Help Team in Nuneaton is recruiting a part-time Family Support Worker (22.5hrs) on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will work alongside families at every stage of need, applying restorative principles to help create bespoke plans.

A Level 3 Child & Family qualification (or NVQ 4 or equivalent) and substantial experience are required. You must have fluent English and be prepared for DBS checks as part of safeguarding.

• Relevant Level 3 Child & Family qualification with evidence of substantial experience as a family support worker or NVQ Level Four or equivalent in Child & Family / Youth Justice.
• Fluency in spoken and written English as required for public service delivery.

Our Family Help Team is a dynamic, committed and welcoming service, working alongside families at every stage of need. From early targeted support, through Children in Need, Edge of Care, Child Protection and Court work; we also support children in care until a clear plan for reunification or permanency is secured. This breadth of work makes our team varied, challenging and extremely rewarding.

We are proud to be a truly multi-disciplinary team, bringing together Family Practitioners, Social Workers, Systemic Consultants, PCSOs and, soon, an NHS Nurse. By working collaboratively under one team, we are able to respond to families’ needs holistically, reduce risk and focus on what matters most - keeping families safely together wherever possible.

Our practice is firmly grounded in Restorative Principles. We work with families, supporting them to identify their strengths, understand challenges and create meaningful, achievable plans for positive change. Every family is supported to develop a plan that is individual to them and builds on their own capacity to achieve lasting outcomes. We are recruiting for the role of Family Support Worker in our Nuneaton & Bedworth Family Help A on a Part time (22.5hrs) for a fixed term contract of 12 months.

The Team brings together experienced family support workers and social workers that parents, carers and families can work with to achieve successful outcomes and sustained change in their own lives.

Now is an exciting time to be part of our team as Warwickshire begins to embed our Families First teams who support the young people in our County. Our approach is about locality working, multi disciplinary and multi agency teams that support the whole family. Building strong partnerships with local services, Health, Police and Education.

The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.

Applicants for the role will need a Relevant Child and family qualification to Level 3 with evidence of substantial experience as a family support worker or a NVQ Level Four or equivalent qualification in a relevant Child & Family / Youth Justice subject.
