Job description

Do you have the skills and experience to engage and build positive trusting relationships with parents, children, and young people to inspire them to make worthwhile changes and improve life opportunities?

As Children’s Services are improving, exciting new opportunities have opened in the Safeguarding Service based in the Northampton area. We are looking to recruit a Family Support Worker to be part of the team building meaningful relationships with children and their families helping them to grow, prosper and achieve.

The role will be based in Northampton but you will be required to move effectively across the county and beyond if required.

The Family Support Worker would provide focussed family support to children and families with complex needs, many of whom are either on Child in Need or Child Protection Plans or part of an assessment process. The successful candidates will work with the whole family to improve parenting capacity, undertaking direct work with children, and providing support to families to increase the skills, confidence, and abilities of all family members to live their daily lives in a positive and safe way.

About you

You areself-motivated and have the ability and skills to provide key pieces of direct work to children and families and to work with multi agency colleagues.

You are enthusiastic, highly motivated, with the ability to work both independently and in a team and have experience of working directly with families and children.

You areable to support with assessment-based work and have good recording skills.

You have current experience in Family Support.
