Family Support Worker

We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our innovative, brave, and creative team.

Position Details:
  • Location: Based at Cross Green Leeds LS9, with work across West Yorkshire
  • Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week
  • Salary: SCP 7 £27,097 per annum pro rata
  • Contract: Initial three-year contract with the possibility to extend

The Role:

Working across West Yorkshire in members' homes and communities, you will build trusted relationships with children and young people who are victims/survivors of domestic abuse, alongside their parent or caregiver. You will collaborate closely with the Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to provide holistic support.

You will develop an understanding of people's strengths, interests, and hobbies, while also gaining knowledge of the needs, barriers, and issues faced by Gypsies and Travellers. Additionally, you will work to increase protective factors and support networks by encouraging participation in education and activities. This includes developing and delivering session plans on healthy relationships, honour-based violence, and safety planning to empower young people.

About You:
  • Experience with management systems, web-based communication, and writing simple reports
  • Experience working with children and/or young people who have experienced trauma
  • Ability to write reports for monitoring and evaluation purposes
  • Experience recording information accurately and promptly
  • Experience in a support-based role, building long-lasting and trusting relationships
