A leading charity seeks a Family Support Worker in Leeds to support children impacted by domestic abuse. The role involves building trusted relationships, collaboration with other advocates, and creating educational sessions. Family Support Worker
We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our innovative, brave, and creative team.
Working across West Yorkshire in members' homes and communities, you will build trusted relationships with children and young people who are victims/survivors of domestic abuse, alongside their parent or caregiver. You will collaborate closely with the Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to provide holistic support.
You will develop an understanding of people's strengths, interests, and hobbies, while also gaining knowledge of the needs, barriers, and issues faced by Gypsies and Travellers. Additionally, you will work to increase protective factors and support networks by encouraging participation in education and activities. This includes developing and delivering session plans on healthy relationships, honour-based violence, and safety planning to empower young people.

You will join a vibrant, brave grassroots organisation led by Gypsy and Traveller people in West Yorkshire. Recognised as innovative and creative, the organisation aims to improve the quality of life for Gypsies and Travellers by addressing inequalities in housing, health, education, employment, and social inclusion. The organisation runs community-facing and strategic projects including advocacy, community development, and youth work.
