Job summary

Glasgow Association for Mental Health (GAMH) is recruiting a Family Support Worker to support unpaid Carers and Young Carers in the North East of Glasgow. The role focuses on practical and emotional support, coordinating with carers and families, and working with partner organisations to improve access to information and resources.

The post is full time, on site in Glasgow, fixed term to 30 April 2027 (may extend with funding).

Qualifications

• Experience delivering practical and emotional support to carers or families.
• Ability to work flexibly including early mornings, evenings or weekends.
• PVG scheme clearance or willingness to join PVG scheme is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to unpaid Carers and Young Carers.
• Work with Carers, families and partner organisations to link information, resources and opportunities.

Our service offers inclusive and holistic support to Carers to help maintain their quality of lifeand improve their health and wellbeing.We are seeking a Family Support Worker to join our team in our GAMH North East Carers Service. The primary focus ofthis post will be to work with unpaid Carers and Young Carers delivering a range of supports that enable Carersto manage their caring responsibilities while maintaining their own health and wellbeing.As a Family Support Worker you will be providing practical and emotional support working collaboratively with Carersand their families and partner organisations to ensure Carers have access to appropriate information, resourcesand opportunities.All applicants must be able to work flexibly; early morning, evening and weekend working may be required.GAMH aims to promote equality of opportunity in service delivery as well as in employment practice.
