Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is recruiting a Family Support Practitioner to help expectant parents and families with children up to age 19 (25 with SEND). Based at Sherwood Family Hub, Clipstone, NG19 0LL, the role focuses on delivering information, guidance and timely support to ensure families receive the right help at the right time.

You will deliver one-to-one support and evidence-based parenting programmes, conduct structured family assessments, and coordinate tailored services.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
• Minimum two years’ experience working with children and families.
• Knowledge of child development and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

As a Family Support Practitioner, you will provide essential information, advice, and guidance to expectant parents and families with children up to the age of 19 (or 25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). Your role will ensure families receive the right support at the right time, from conception until their child reaches adulthood.

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Need

• A Level 3 qualification in Early Years or an equivalent qualification.

• Knowledge of child development, safeguarding practices, and the importance of early intervention.
