Job summary

Action for Children Norfolk is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to work with families and young children, delivering home visits and group sessions within the Early Childhood and Family Service (ECFS).

You will support families across Norfolk, coordinating with partner agencies and implementing parenting programmes, with a focus on positive, measurable outcomes for vulnerable children. A fixed-term contract until 30 September 2027, 37 hours per week, plus generous benefits, is offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication.
• The ability to maintain written records to a high standard.
• The ability to coordinate referral, assessment, and support.
• Confidence in IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one support in the family home.
• Delivering parenting programmes and group sessions.

Salary: £26,006.84 per annum

Location: Acle, Norfolk

Contract/Hours: Fixed Term Contract – Until 30th September 2027- Full time 37 hours per week, part time will be considered.

Interviews to be held on week commencing 19th October

Norfolk's Early Childhood and Family Service (ECFS) supports children aged 0 to 5 and their families through a range of services, including group sessions, parenting programmes and home visits. Working alongside families and partner organisations, ECFS provides information, advice and practical support to help children thrive, with activities covering topics such as parenting, emotional wellbeing and keeping children safe.

As a Family Support Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting children and families across Norfolk by:

Let's talk about you

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic forward thinking family support practitioner, confident in leading and bringing fresh ideas and inspiration to the role. You will find the full job description attached but the ‘must-haves' are:

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Early Years or relevant study area.
• Experience of working directly with children and families, either individually or in a group setting.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication.
• The ability to maintain written records to a high standard.
• The ability to coordinate referral, assessment, and support.
• Confidence in IT systems.
• Experience of delivering a parenting programme (desirable).
• Access to a suitable method of transport to travel to various settings to carry out your role (essential).
