Job summary

Yorkswood Primary School in Birmingham is seeking a proactive Family Support Worker / Coordinator to lead and coordinate family support, pupil nurture, and Early Help outreach across the school. You will be a visible, trusted presence in the building, leading our breakfast club intake and engaging families on the gates.

You will run structured lunchtime nurture groups and 1:1 mentoring focused on emotional regulation, self-esteem, trauma recovery, and social skills, with a safeguarding role

Qualifications

• Is genuinely passionate about improving life outcomes for vulnerable children and hard-to-reach families in a community-centered primary school.

Responsibilities

• Leading Breakfast Club intake from 08:00 AM and morning engagement with families.
• Planning and running lunchtime Nurture Groups and 1:1 mentoring for emotional regulation and social skills.
• Driving Early Help attendance interventions through home visits and routines with families.
• Liaising with class teachers and contributing to Pupil Progress Meetings to remove non-academic barriers to learning.
• Safeguarding duties as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and maintaining CPOMS records.
