Job summary

Pact invites applications for a Family Support Worker (Visits Centre Assistant) based at HMP Styal. You will welcome visiting families, provide information and guidance, and help run activities to make visits positive and less stressful.

Working in the visitor centre, you’ll collaborate with staff and partner agencies to safeguard children and vulnerable adults, support right to work checks, and contribute to ongoing improvement of family support services.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people facing difficulties.
• Strong communication and empathy.
• Ability to handle safeguarding processes.

Responsibilities

• Welcome visiting families in the visits centre and provide information and guidance.
• Organise activities for children and ensure refreshments are available.
• Support safeguarding and child protection procedures and liaise with partner agencies.
