Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor in Hereford. You will handle a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, contact, and care proceedings, advising clients with clarity and strategy.

The role involves managing a busy caseload, collaborating with solicitors and paralegals, and representing clients in court and mediation. The ideal candidate will be professional, organised, ambitious and keen to develop knowledge through regular file reviews

Qualifications

• Experience in family law with ability to handle a broad range of matters.
• Strong client-facing and advisory skills across complex family cases.
• Ability to manage and progress multiple files with care and diligence.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in divorce, child arrangements and related matters.
• Advise on family law options and strategy for each case.
• Attend court, mediation and other dispute resolution processes as needed.
• Manage a personal caseload while working with colleagues and support staff.
• Provide clear client communication in person, by phone and video.
• Draft and review legal documents with attention to detail and accuracy.

Job description

My client, based in Hereford, is a growing and established law firm with a strong focus on delivering high-quality legal services and excellent client care. They are looking to appoint an experienced Family Solicitor to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent and advise clients across a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, domestic violence, child contact, adoption and family estates.
• Represent parents and children in care proceedings and provide clear, practical advice throughout.
• Represent clients in court, mediation and other forms of Non-Court Dispute Resolution.
• Manage an individual caseload while working collaboratively with solicitors, paralegals, secretaries and other support staff.
• Provide advice to clients in person, by telephone and via video conference.
• Draft and review legal documentation and establish a clear and compelling position for each client based on a thorough understanding of the matter and relevant family law.

Person Specification

• Work towards a target of 6 billable hours per day and cooperate with the firm's credit control arrangements.
• Manage an individual caseload effectively while working as part of a wider team.
• Be professional, organised, competent, enthusiastic and ambitious.
• Demonstrate a willingness to seek advice and support to develop knowledge and skills.
• Participate in regular file reviews with a senior Solicitor to ensure compliance and maintain high standards of client care.
