Job summary

The Witherslack Group is seeking a Family Liaison Officer to support families, carers and young people across the region. You will work closely with parents, the local authority and our dedicated team to explore circumstances and implement effective, life-changing resolutions.

You will help guide families to local resources and coordinate school visits and admissions with the Head Teacher. Applicants should have SEN experience, strong local authority contacts and a genuine passion for improving

Qualifications

• Experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and working with families in challenging circumstances
• Strong contacts within the local authority including education, social services and healthcare
• Experience of multi-agency working and safeguarding/child protection policies

Responsibilities

• Coordinate visits to see parents and discuss strategies for coping with life events
• Talk at length with parents, young people and carers and collaborate with the local authority to implement resolutions
• Draw on knowledge of local resources to connect families with additional support
• Organise and participate in admission interviews in partnership with the Head Teacher and ensure thorough inductions
