Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking a Family Liaison Officer and Administrative Support at Claystone School in Luton. This permanent, term-time role (start Sept 2026) is 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £24,000 per annum.

It involves liaising with families and coordinating SEND administration to secure the best outcomes for pupils. You will build trusting relationships, provide guidance, manage EHCPs/Annual Reviews, and ensure processes run smoothly while safeguarding pupils and

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Experience in education, health or care setting preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
  • Maintain regular home–school communication.
  • Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies for coordinated support.
  • Coordinate EHCPs and Annual Reviews deadlines and documentation.
  • Prepare confidential reports and pupil records to a high standard.
  • Liaise with local authorities, social workers and multi‑agency professionals.

Location: Claystone School, Luton, LU1 4LL

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday-Friday | 8:15am - 4:15pm

Salary: £24,000 per annum (not pro rata)

About the Role

We're looking for a Family Liaison Officer & Administrative Support to become an integral part of our supportive school community. This is a rewarding and varied role where you'll combine meaningful work with families alongside coordinating essential SEND administration to ensure every pupil receives the support they need.

You'll be the reassuring voice families can rely on, building trusting relationships, offering guidance and ensuring they feel heard, valued and involved in their child's journey. Alongside this, you'll play a key role in managing EHCPs and Annual Reviews, working closely with colleagues, local authorities and external professionals to help secure the very best outcomes for our pupils.

What You’ll Do
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families, becoming a welcoming and approachable point of contact.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintain regular communication between home and school, ensuring families feel informed and involved.
  • Work alongside teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies to provide coordinated support that improves outcomes for pupils.
  • Coordinate the administration of EHCPs and Annual Reviews, ensuring statutory deadlines are met accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare, gather and maintain confidential documentation, reports and pupil records to a consistently high standard.
  • Liaise confidently with local authorities, social workers and multi‑agency professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support safeguarding processes, handle sensitive information professionally and contribute to pupil support planning.
  • Help create a welcoming, nurturing and inclusive school environment where every child and family feels valued.
What you will bring
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working with families, children or vulnerable young people in an education, health or care setting.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet important deadlines.
  • Confidence working with confidential information and maintaining accurate records.
  • The ability to build positive, professional relationships with families, colleagues and external agencies.
  • A proactive, resilient and flexible approach, with a genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.

Claystone School – a brand‑new specialist school in Luton for autistic children aged 4-11, recently opened in January 2025.

Situated in Pepperstock, Luton, Claystone School is a small, independent setting supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of additional learning difficulties.
