Job summary

Warwickshire County Council’s Adult and Community Learning’s Family Learning team is seeking creative and passionate Sessional Tutors to deliver a broad curriculum across Warwickshire.

Role involves teaching Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Food and the Environment, Art and Play, and Parenting and Life Skills. Tutors may be based at Pound Lane Learning Centre, Leamington Spa, Camp Hill Centre, Nuneaton or Oakfield Park, with travel across the county as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in education across a range of ages and stages.

Responsibilities

• Teach across the Family Learning curriculum including Literacy; Numeracy; Science, Food and the Environment; Art and Play; and Parenting and Life Skills.
• Your teaching is planned for you, though you may bring creative ownership within role boundaries.
• Be willing to travel Warwickshire-wide to cover Stratford, Warwick, Rugby, North Warwickshire and Nuneaton & Bedworth areas.

Warwickshire County Council's Adult and Community Learning is a dynamic, forward-looking adult education service, judged 'Good' by Ofsted. We provide a wide range of adult learning courses across the county.

Family Learning is a specialist service, consisting of outstanding teachers who work with parents and carers to help them to develop skills for supporting their children. As a sessional tutor, you will teach across the rich and broad curriculum offer within the Family Learning programme. This includes Literacy; Numeracy; Science, Food and the Environment; Art and Play; and Parenting and Life Skills courses. It is suited to teachers who have experience working in education across a range of ages and stages, as well as curriculum areas - the success of our team is built on the wide and varied experience of our team. Your teaching is planned for you,
though you are also encouraged to bring creative ownership to your work within the boundaries of the role.

About the Role

This post will be based Warwickshire-wide (comprising Stratford District, Warwick District, the Borough of Rugby, the Borough of North Warwickshire and the Borough of Nuneaton and Bedworth). It may be possible to express an area preference if we have enough tutors employed to cover each area, though you will have an ability to travel Warwickshire-wide as required. Your office base will either be Pound Lane Learning Centre, Leamington Spa, Camp Hill Centre, Nuneaton or Oakfield Park in Rugby, though there will be a requirement to access all three bases as part of the role, too.
