Job summary

Somerset Council is recruiting a Family Intervention Worker in Yeovil to provide focused, practical support to disabled children and their families requiring Level 3 support within our Effective Support for Children framework.

Working within the Team Around the Child/Family process, you will assess needs, plan interventions, build confidence in parents and carers, and help families meet everyday needs at home and in the community, delivering meaningful long-term outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and family relationships.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
• Knowledge of external resources, data and community services.
• Some experience in social care and working with children and young people.
• Able to produce basic correspondence and records.
• Fluent English as required by immigration rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide focused, practical support to disabled children and their families.
• Assess needs and plan meaningful, hands-on interventions.
• Work with the Team Around the Child/Family to ensure joined-up support.
