Job summary

Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Family Hub team is hiring a dedicated worker to support families in the Northwich and Winsford area. This full-time role focuses on strengths-based, trauma-informed practice to help children and young people thrive.

You will work within a close, supportive team, manage a varied caseload, and deliver group work with parents and carers, contributing to early help and whole-family outcomes across Cheshire West and Chester.

Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with children, young people and families.
  • Understanding trauma-informed principles and systemic approaches.
  • Ability to lead group work with parents and carers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver support to children and families within Best Start for Life teams.
  • Apply strengths-based practice and collaborate with services.
  • Manage a varied caseload and contribute to service planning.

Job description

We’re looking for Family Hub workers to join ourBest Start for Life Early Help Teamsacross Cheshire West and Chester.

We have1 full-time post in Winsford available.


About the Role

You will ensure that children and young people remain at the heart of all practice by delivering support through a strengths-based, relational approach. This should be informed by trauma-aware principles and viewed through a systemic lens in alignment with ‘Our Way of Working’ principles

You’ll be someone who:

  • Has experience working directly with children, young people and families
  • Is confident having honest, respectful conversations
  • Can manage a varied caseload and work with different services
  • Understands how early help and whole‑family working makes a difference
  • Is practical, reflective and team‑focused
  • Be confident in delivering group work with parents, carers and their families

Roles are available across Northwich and Winsford. We’ll talk with you during the process about preferences and what works best for you and the service.
