Job summary

Leicester City Council's Children’s Social Care service is seeking a permanent Family Help Team Manager to lead one of its social work clusters and drive high-quality practice.

The role focuses on supervising social workers, managing a diverse caseload, and delivering strong performance with a trauma-informed, Signs of Safety approach. Hybrid working and an out-of-hours rota are included.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a social work team and managing a caseload.
• Knowledge of Signs of Safety and trauma-informed approaches.
• Experience applying evidence-based practice to case decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Family Help team and its performance.
• Provide supervision to social workers and develop staff.
• Manage a range of Family Help cases and ensure positive outcomes.
• Motivate staff to work flexibly and effectively.
• Apply Signs of Safety as the intervention model.
• Underpin practice with trauma-informed approaches and Lundy participation model.
• Use evidence-based practice to inform decisions and service development.
• Support addressing racial injustice within families and the workforce.
• Cover out-of-hours work on a rota.
