Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Family Help locality team in Leominster. You will lead a complex caseload, develop Family Help Plans, and work with partners to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

You will assess risks, attend key meetings, and produce clear records and reports, including court work, while progressing along a Social Work Career Pathway. This role offers relocation support and a market-rate supplement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Experience in statutory social care with safeguarding responsibilities.
• Ability to assess risk and engage with families using restorative practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a complex Family Help caseload as Lead Practitioner.
• Develop Family Help Plans in collaboration with partner agencies.
• Chair and contribute to meetings (Child in Need, core group, strategy).
• Record accurately and produce high-quality reports, including court work.
