Enfield Council is seeking an experienced Family Help Advanced Practitioner to join the Children’s Services hub in Enfield Town. You will work with advanced social work practitioners and family help practitioners to assess, plan and review interventions for children and families, empowering positive change.
You will carry a small caseload and supervise a practitioner while helping to drive improvement, safety and timely support across teams.
The Family Help Service is an integrated preventive service that brings together advanced social work practitioners, social work practitioners and family help practitioners, working alongside one another to offer support to children and families in need that require a range of coordinated interventions from targeted early help through to child protection.
We are looking for experienced, dynamic, enthusiastic, able and experienced qualified social worker managers and advanced practitioners registered with Social Work England. The post holders will be required to demonstrate a good understanding of the diverse needs of children and show experience of being involved in applying a strength-based approach to assessing, planning and reviewing processes to support families or individual children to empower and affect change.
The advanced social work practitioner will carry a small caseload and be responsible for line managing one case holding family help practitioner (alternatively qualified). The team manager will manage 5 to 6 staff. Both post holders will be responsible for driving high-quality practice, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring children and families receive timely, effective support that delivers positive outcomes.
Based in the Children and Family Hub at Thomas Hardy House, in the heart of Enfield Town, you will work closely with colleagues across Children's Services and partner agencies to ensure children remain safe, supported and able to thrive within their families and communities wherever possible.
This is a great opportunity to join an excellent service that works together with families to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people. We are in an exciting period of transformation with our new integrated family help teams having recently gone live. The Family help Teams will be supported by a strong MACPT (multi-agency child protection team) that will be going live towards the end of 2026.
Our leadership culture is grounded in openness, learning and shared responsibility, with a commitment to supporting staff with their wellbeing, alongside professional development and achieving best practice. You will be joining a service that has high standards, values professional curiosity, collective accountability and innovation, creating the conditions for everyone to do their best work to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
Enfield is committed to supporting staff to develop their skills and as such offers a comprehensive induction and a bespoke training programme available to all case holding practitioners. You will receive high-quality support from an experienced manager and given opportunities to contribute to service developments.
