Job description

Salary: Soulbury Scale A 5 - 10 (+ up to 3 SPAs). Previously awarded SPA points will be honoured. Plus Outer London Allowance.

Contract: Permanent, full time positions. Part time can be negotiated at or above 0.6 FTE.

Location: Enfield Civic Centre with hybrid working arrangements.

We are committed to safer recruitment and safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. This post requires an enhanced DBS check with both adult and child barred lists and further safer recruitment processes.

Enfield Council is seeking to fill main grade EP posts to join our friendly, dynamic and well-regarded Educational Psychology Service. You will be joining a skilled and supportive team that is well-respected by schools and services across Enfield. EPs are contributing to shaping Enfield's emerging Experts at Hand model, offering exciting opportunities to influence innovative, integrated approaches to supporting children, young people and families across the borough.

All EPs have a patch of schools where you can develop strong relationships and partnership working. We have a strong history of multi-agency working, and all of our EPs have opportunities to work within projects and services and develop their specialist interests. Current commissioned work includes: the Virtual School for children in care; Youth Justice Service; School Admissions Service; Mental Health Support Team; Enfield Advisory Service for Autism (EASA); Enfield Communication Advisory Support Service (ECASS); CAMHS neurodevelopmental pathway; ELSA; and MeLSA.

You will benefit from a supportive senior leadership team, committed to supporting team belonging, wellbeing and work life balance. We have a service-wide CPD programme providing ongoing training where we can learn, grow and reflect together. Peer and group supervision sessions take place alongside regular individual supervision. See what our team members say about working with Enfield EPS.

We have a strong focus on emotional health and wellbeing, developing trauma informed and culturally responsive practice. The EPS takes a lead across several areas across the partnership such as trauma informed practice (ETIPSS), barriers to school attendance, autism and neurodiversity. Have a look at our website for further information. We work closely with Our Voice, Enfield’s Parent-Carer Forum, to co-produce our offer.

We are supportive by a friendly and efficient business support team. We are based in an attractive and well-appointed central office base in Enfield Town. Free car parking provides easy access to the team base. We offer an attractive relocation package for eligible candidates.

We want to represent the communities we serve, and we welcome applications from under-represented groups. You should hold a professional qualification in Educational Psychology and be registered with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist or be a Trainee EP in Year 2 or 3 of a recognised training course, ready to take up a qualified EP position in 2027 or 2028.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Dr Arno Basson (Senior EP) or Dr Emma Gore Langton (Deputy Principal EP & Service Manager) on 020 8379 2000.
