Job summary

Plume Academy in Essex is seeking a dedicated Parent Engagement Officer on a fixed-term basis until 21 July 2027. The role focuses on strengthening partnerships between home and school and supporting positive outcomes for students and families.

The post holder will lead strategies to engage parents, support attendance, wellbeing and achievement, work with staff and external agencies, and help Year 6 pupils transition to secondary education, including progressing toward the Parentkind Silver

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• Desired Level 3 qualification in Education, Family Support, Youth Work, Community Engagement or related field.
• Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline.
• Experience working with parents, families or young people in an education or community settings.
• Experience building partnerships with families and external agencies.
• Experience delivering workshops, events or engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate strategies to enhance parental engagement across the academy.
• Develop positive relationships with families to support attendance, wellbeing and achievement.
• Work with staff and external agencies to remove barriers to engagement.
• Support transition arrangements from feeder primary schools for Year 6 pupils.
• Lead work towards achieving the Parentkind Silver Award.
