Plume Academy in Heybridge, United Kingdom, is seeking a part-time Parent Engagement Officer to lead strategies that improve parental engagement and school partnership. You will build positive relationships with families, support attendance, wellbeing and achievement, and work with staff and external agencies to remove barriers to engagement, including transition work for Year 6 pupils entering the school.

The core purpose of the role is to lead and coordinate strategies that enhance parental engagement across the academy, ensuring parents and carers are active partners in their child's education. The successful candidate will develop positive and meaningful relationships with families, support attendance, wellbeing and achievement, and work collaboratively with staff and external agencies to remove barriers to engagement.
The role will also support transition arrangements with feeder primary schools, helping Year 6 pupils and their families make a successful move into secondary education. In addition, the post holder will lead the academy's work towards achieving the Parentkind Silver Award.

The hours of work required for the role are 15 hours per week, term time plus only (38 weeks per year).
Annual salary for the Parent Engagement Officer will be in accordance with the Academy's Support Staff Pay Scale, which for appointment for a full-time post currently involves a salary of up to £25,297 salary (Band 2 Point 11-16), however, actual salary offered will be £8,312 per annum, pro rata equivalent of point 11 including an allowance for holiday pay.
