Location: Central Park Complex, Manchester (Hybrid - office & home working)

Contract: Temporary - 7 months

We are currently recruiting a motivated and experienced Family Court Disclosure Supervisor to join the Criminal Records Unit, managing the Family Court Disclosure (FCD) Team and overseeing day-to-day operations.

Role Purpose

The Family Court Disclosure Supervisor ensures the effective supervision of a team of 15 staff, maintaining high standards of performance and compliance within the FCD function. This role includes performance management, mentoring, and monitoring outputs, ensuring all disclosure processes for family court proceedings are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and line-manage the FCD team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to staff to improve overall team performance.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure tasks are processed within allocated timescales, prioritising court orders and witness summons.
  • Produce and present performance data for the team and individuals to the Unit Manager and Head of Branch.
  • Undertake Family Court disclosure work and attend court as required.
  • Respond to enquiries from internal teams and external agencies regarding disclosure processes.
  • Maintain accurate and secure records in line with legislation, including Data Protection, Freedom of Information, and information management standards.
  • Uphold compliance with relevant policies and procedures, including handling sensitive and explicit information regarding violence, abuse, or vulnerable persons.
  • Review, develop, and implement procedures to meet local and national standards.
  • Support other sections as required to maintain overall efficiency.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, and comply with health and safety requirements.
Essential Criteria
  • Experience supervising or supporting staff within a clerical or administrative environment.
  • Experience working in a Criminal Records Unit or similar setting.
  • Competent in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office packages and internet applications.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and performance management of staff.
  • Strong organisational and decision‑making skills.
  • Knowledge of disclosure processes, data protection legislation, and care proceedings.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of family court or care proceedings.
  • Experience preparing performance reports and analysing data.
  • Supervisory experience in a large‑scale organisation.
