Job summary

Cockshut Hill School, part of Summit Learning Trust, seeks a Family Support professional to work with parents and carers to remove barriers to attendance, engagement and wellbeing. You will coordinate targeted interventions, liaise with staff and external professionals, and help families access local services.

The role focuses on building strong relationships, guiding families, and contributing to positive outcomes for learners, with safeguarding at the core of practice.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above.
• Experience working effectively with vulnerable children, young people and families.
• Experience working with parents/carers of children/young people.
• Experience working with professionals to promote learning or welfare OR recent work with children and families.
• Knowledge of confidentiality and safeguarding principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead point of contact for parents and carers of learners receiving targeted family support.
• Build strong relationships with families to remove barriers to attendance, engagement and wellbeing.
• Manage day-to-day attendance concerns for identified learners and liaise with the attendance lead.
• Analyse attendance data to identify patterns and support improvement.
• Collaborate with school staff and external professionals for timely, joined-up support.
• Represent the school at multi-agency meetings and provide reports when required.
