Job summary

School-Home Support is seeking an Attendance and Family Support Worker based at Woodlands Primary School in Sheffield to improve attendance and provide whole-family support. The role is term-time only, 35 hours per week, with inset days, and is permanent.

You will work in partnership with school staff to deliver casework, focusing on attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning, while safeguarding children and supporting families from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in an education setting or similar to improve a child's school attendance and engagement in learning.
• Engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual and/or group-based support.
• Understanding factors affecting a child's capacity to learn.
• Experience working with families from diverse communities; holistic family support; safeguarding processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and families we support.
• Focus support to improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.
• Work in close partnership with school staff to support families and manage referrals and safeguarding pathways.
