Job summary

Cheshire East Council in the Best Start in Life Family Hubs is seeking Family Advisors (Navigators) to support families with children aged 0–19 across the north of the borough, providing information and signposting to services.

This full-time role (37 hours/week) offers hybrid/remote working where possible, generous leave, a salary sacrifice scheme and a career with impact in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support families and their children aged 0–19 (up to 25 for SEND).

• Collaborate with Family Hub teams and handle administrative tasks (booking rooms, appointments, data entry).
• Respond to enquiries from the public and professionals with consistent guidance.

If so, we have an exciting role that has become available to work within the Cheshire East Council Best Start in Life Family Hubs as Family Advisors (Navigators).

We have one full time (37 hours per week) role available. The postholder will support the work of the Best Start in Life Family Hubsacross theNorth of the Borough (Congleton, Holme Chapel, Knutsford, Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Poynton & Disley). The family hubssupport families with children 0-19 (25 for young people with SEND).

Family hubs provide a universal ‘front door’ to families, offering a ‘one-stop shop’offamily help services across their social care, education, mental health and physical health needs, with a comprehensive offer for parents, children and young people at its core.Enablingfamiliestoreceivetimelyandappropriate informationtailored to their needs.

About you

• Worktosupport families and their children aged 0–19 (or up to 25 for young people with SEND).

• Tobring council,healthand community services together so that families can access the right support at the right time.

• Collaborate with Family Hub teams to provide high-quality, integrated support services.Via a variety ofadministrative tasks i.e. bookingrooms,appointments, data collection,entryand orderingofresources.A number ofICT platforms are usedon a daily basisto enter data and record transactions within our policies and procedures.

• Receive enquiries from members of the public, professionals (via face to face, electronic and telephone channels) and provideappropriate, consistent advice,signpostingand guidance.

• Communication, organisation, and customer service skills within a public service setting are critical.
