Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is recruiting a Factory Technical Manager for our Barnsley site. You will lead the technical team, drive food safety and quality, and deliver strategies that meet retailer and business requirements.

In this senior role, you will own site audits, customer relationships, and continuous improvement initiatives, while coordinating with cross-functional teams and acting as a deputy for the Head of Technical when needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in a food-related discipline.
• Proven experience in a technical management role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment (ideally chilled).
• Strong experience working with UK retailers (Top 5 preferred) and BRC standards.
• Proven track record of leading audits and managing factory technical teams.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence (travel to other sites required).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the factory technical team day-to-day, driving a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Deliver technical and quality strategies aligned to retailer and TCFG requirements.
• Manage customer relationships, ensuring excellence in technical account management.
• Lead site audits, customer visits and ensure strong audit outcomes (BRC & retailer).
• Drive site performance through effective use of data and technical KPIs.
• Develop and deliver joint quality improvement plans with customers.
• Work cross-functionally with site teams and wider business to ensure aligned delivery.
• Deputise for the Head of Technical when required.
