Job summary

Imperial Recruitment Group is seeking a Factory Operator for their Sunderland site. The role is permanent, with day and night shifts and a starting salary of 28,000 per annum plus shift allowance.

You will comply with health, safety and quality policies, monitor daily performance, manage schedule adherence and wastage, and lead team activities. Overtime is available at 1.5x outside hours and 2x on Sundays and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG industry (food & beverage preferred).
• Knowledge of TPM and improvement principles in operation/control of machinery.
• Basic numeric and literacy skills.
• Experience in an Operations production environment, ideally FMCG.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Comply with and ensure team compliance with company policies and statutory regulations for health and safety, food safety and quality.
• Accountability for the day to day performance of their own area of operation and influence.
• Ensure team and individual contribution to meeting factory targets for schedule adherence, SKU adherence, wastage minimisation, quality, health and safety and overhead cost control.
• Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are met and maintained across the site by everyone.
• Provide a role model example within the team for attitude, contribution and team working.
• Operate equipment in line with best practice, complying with Health & Safety rules and policies.
• Lead CWS activities and take responsibility for team performance and involvement.
• Undertake rudimentary maintenance tasks to drive efficiency of product and size changeovers of equipment.
• Be the primary liaison with the leadership team regarding team performance and KPI progression.
• Support development of others on equipment and CWS activities within the team.

Responsibilities

Ensure operation of equipment in accordance with best practice complying with Health and Safety rules and regulations and Policies and Procedures.

Allocation and accountability of an assigned non-core role which can include the following: Performance, Quality and HSE.

Be the primary liaison with the leadership team regarding team performance and KPI target progression.

Provide specific support and guidance when required for the development of others on equipment and CWS activities within designated team.

Requirements:

Prior experience of a FMCG industry (food and beverage preferred)

Previous skills in the theory and application of TPM and improvement principles whilst in the operation/control of machinery.

Basic numeric and literacy skills.

Experience in an Operations production environment, ideally FMCG.
