Fire Glass UK Ltd is a leading UK producer, supplier, and glazier of fire and acoustic glass. We are hiring a full-time Factory Operative at the Colchester Branch to operate glass machinery, ensure quality, and support loading duties.

The role requires heavy lifting, manual handling, and adherence to tight deadlines. Training will be provided, with opportunities to learn new skills and progress within the company.

Qualifications

• Operate glass machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct quality checks and liaise with Supervisors on targets.
• Assist with preparing glass loads for customers and support loading/unloading.
• Carry out daily/weekly equipment checks and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Follow Health and Safety policies and report defects or incidents.

Job description

Fire Glass UK Ltd is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers, suppliers, and glaziers of fire and acoustic glass, and is looking to appoint a full-time Factory Operative at their Colchester Branch.

The job will include heavy lifting, manual handling, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

The successful applicant would also receive training in different aspects of the glass trade with the opportunity to learn a new skill set and progress within the company.

Your Tasks

The successful applicant must possess the below skills and experience:

• Operating glass machinery and equipment, and handling glass safely and effectively
• Work in line with all quality processes, conducting relevant quality checks and liaising with Supervisors and Production Managers on a daily basis to discuss quality and production targets.
• Assisting with preparing glass loads for customers, supporting drivers to load or offload vehicles as necessary and ensuring correct paperwork is used/completed
• Maintaining a high standard of workplace housekeeping and carrying out daily/weekly checks on equipment and machinery
• Working in a controlled and safe manner in line with Health and Safety policies, wearing appropriate PPE at all times and immediately reporting defects/accidents/near misses
