Job summary

Shillito Group are recruiting for a Factory Manager in Sheffield to lead a fast-paced manufacturing operation with full accountability for production, people, quality, cost, maintenance, stock and continuous improvement.

The role requires a strong character, hands-on leadership and the ability to challenge performance, set clear expectations, and drive improvements across the factory while managing the budget and P&L and focusing on labour efficiency, scrap and downtime.

Qualifications

• Strong experience running a substantial manufacturing operation.
• Experience managing managers, supervisors and large shop floor teams.
• Ability to make tough decisions in a fast-moving environment.
• Commercial awareness with budgets and P&L.
• Understanding of production, maintenance, quality and continuous improvement.
• Experience improving productivity, reducing waste and driving accountability.

Responsibilities

• Senior role with full responsibility for factory performance across production, people, quality, cost, maintenance, stock and continuous improvement.
• Visible across the factory, close to production and able to understand what is happening, why it is happening and what needs to change.
• Responsible for the manufacturing budget and P&L, with focus on labour efficiency, scrap, downtime, material usage, productivity and cost.
