Job summary

MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client in Gateshead by recruiting a permanent Factory Manager. You will lead production, warehouse and hygiene operations across day and night shifts, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will drive efficiency improvements, manage recruitment and training, and collaborate with Supply Chain, Technical, NPD, H&S and HR. A strong FMCG background is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven managerial experience in Food/Drink/FMCG is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance.
• Experience with ERP and production data handling.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the General Manager, oversee Production, Warehouse and Hygiene (Days & Nights).
• Manage daily production and ensure collaboration across teams.
• Ensure facility operates to health, safety, food safety, sustainability and environmental standards.
• Utilise ERP systems to maximise efficiency and data accuracy.
• Ensure production plans are delivered on time, in full, to quality standards.
• Drive improvements in efficiency, yield and waste reduction.
• Recruit and train production, warehouse and hygiene teams.
• Liaise with Supply Chain, Technical, NPD, H&S and HR departments.
• Lead staff engagement and manage according to company values.
• Handle crisis management and risk mitigation.

The Job You'll Do

• Reporting to the General Manager, the Factory Manager is responsible for Production, including Warehouse and Hygiene (Dayshift & Nightshift).
• Overseeing all aspects of daily production and facilitating effective collaboration.
• Ensuring that the facility operates to Company standards in Health & Safety, food safety, sustainability and environment.
• Utilising the ERP system to ensure maximum efficiency
• Ensure production plans are delivered on time, in full, and to required quality standards
• Drive improvements in efficiency, yield and waste reduction.
• Manage recruitment and training of production, warehouse and hygiene teams.
• Closely liaise with the Supply Chain, Technical, NPD, H&S and HR departments
• Lead staff engagement and manage in line with company values
• Crisis Management

About You

• Proven experience in a Managerial role within Food/Drink/FMCG (highly desirable)
• Relevant technical qualifications are desirable, but not essential (Degree, HND, HND etc.)
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Ability to motivate, inspire and guide teams to achieve goals
• Experience improving processes, productivity and performance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of health & safety and regulatory compliance
• Comfortable working with ERP systems and production data
